The Sphinx Virtuosi is a professional, self-conducted ensemble, composed of 18 accomplished Black and Latinx artists. This collection of works was inspired by brilliant voices musically depicting and commemorating the events of our times, as well as the vibrant gifts of the past. Recognizing the poignant divisions among our communities, the concert program looks toward light and hope, which come from empathy, listening, and remembrance. Sphinx Virtuosi celebrates creative living voices while reflecting on and paying tribute to the classical tradition through today's lens. The Sphinx Organization is a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to transforming lives and raising awareness through the power of diversity in the arts. Sarasota Orchestra is one of 100 orchestras nationwide participating in the National Alliance for Audition Support, a program of the Sphinx Organization.
The concert will be followed by a Q&A segment with members of the Sphinx ensemble.
