A Hero's Life

Sarasota Orchestra concludes the Masterworks season with a program of heroic proportions. The concert begins with the world premiere of Sarah Gibson's to make this mountain taller. Gil Shaham—"one of today’s pre-eminent violinists" (The New York Times)—shines in Korngold's cinematic Violin Concerto, and conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto shows off the virtuosity of the whole orchestra in Richard Strauss' epic Ein Heldenleben!
